It’s Advent, friends!! What a joyous time of the year!! There is nothing more exciting than preparing for the coming of our Savior. Welcoming a new born babe in a manger, seemingly so small and ordinary, who will grow to become the Savior of the entire world!
During the month of December, I will be celebrating the coming and the birth of our Lord.
Today I am looking at Luke 2: 8-20, the story of the shepherds. Instead of sharing the scripture (which I still encourage you to read!), I am sharing this:
Make sure you read that scripture! It includes my favorite part:
But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. (Luke 2: 19)
This is a mom just like any other mom. Her heart is swelled with love. She is so proud of her newborn Son, the attention He is getting just adds to it all. Have you ever felt that? I have. I am amazed by my children each and every day. I have scrapbooks and instagrams galore to show off and to look back on. Yes, Mary was just like any other mom… except that she was the mother of our Savior. But, oh! I know that love she felt! I share that pride! And I praise the Lord for the many blessings He allows me as a mom. Amen!
These scriptures are affording me a few days off as I have combined 4 days or readings into one. I will see you soon! Enjoy your family and friends and all the richness of God’s blessings!
