A Favorite Picture…

Kenny

This is one of my favorite pictures.  I use it enough, right?  I absolutely love the looks on our faces.

This was taken at a very sad time in our lives.  We were months out of having lost a dear friend in a senseless accident.  He was young, just days from his 23rd birthday.  And he was so close to home… he was turning into his drive.

Matt was best friends with my sister-in-law and her husband.  Together with a dozen other people, they were a tight band of people who spent every weekend and vacation together.  We were occasionally invited into the group because of Hubby’s sister and sports.

The accident rocked us all.  And as we tried to make sense of it all, we sought comfort in each other.    This was one of those nights.

Proverbs 14:13  Even in laughter the heart may ache, and the end of joy may be grief.

It was fall.  We were all together for a potluck dinner and an intimate birthday celebration.  We gathered in the garage and just enjoyed each other’s company.  Music was playing and Hubby grabbed me in his arms and started dancing.  People started snapping pictures from all sides, which made us laugh… and this one ended up in our hands.

The smile on Hubby’s face sums up his personality and why I love him so much.  It is definitely a favorite picture of mine!!

Oh, your hubs’s smile is priceless. Pity you cannot bottle that joy and share with all of us! I see behind the smile what a great guy he is, just like my better half. I am sorry to hear of your loss.
