The idea is to write for five minutes flat. No extreme editing; no worrying about perfect grammar, font, or punctuation. Unscripted. Unedited. Real. On top of that, I am participating in the 31 Days challenge on the topic of PRAISE. Let’s see if I can somehow tie the two together…
TODAY’S WORD: TOGETHER
The convention center is packed. There are thousands of youth and adults standing tightly, shoulder to shoulder. We can barely move… but we move our shoulders, we lift our hands, and we dance in our seats.
The songs are loud, but our voices still drown out the instruments. We grab the hand of the person beside us and we offer up prayers of confession and gratefulness. The person beside us is new… a stranger… but they will very soon be leaving as family. For we are all children of God.
The speaker comes out and rallies all in attendance. It is a huge revival… and for some, it is an introduction to a BIG and forgiving God. We leave our seats to walk a hundred steps down to the bottom to get as close to the makeshift altar as we can… and we release ourselves to Him. We invite Him back in. And we praise Him for being the awesome and loving Father that He is.
Our group is small in number, but we add to the myriads that are there. We come in shy and nervous… but we leave loud and friendly. We’ve met new faces. We’ve sang God’s praises. And we leave renewed. TOGETHER.
