Thanks a lot, Adam!

Romans 5: 18-19 (CEV) Everyone was going to be punished because Adam sinned. But because of the good thing that Christ has done, God accepts us and gives us the gift of life.  Adam disobeyed God and caused many others to be sinners. But Jesus obeyed him and will make many people acceptable to God.

Thanks a lot, Adam.

One man (and one woman) meant doom for all of creation.  With the bite of a single piece of fruit, the world became filled with things like doubt and fear… and sin.

There was no turning back.  A loving God forgave them, but there would be consequences for their actions.  There would be pain.  There would be struggles.  There would be mistrust, and crime, and adultery, and hate, and … well, you get the point.  The first sin introduced the world to all that is bad.

As a science teacher, I am taking the liberty to bend Newton’s teachings a bit to illustrate my point: for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. (I knew that education thing would come in handy some time).

Adam::Jesus

Sin::Forgiveness

Fear::Grace

Get the picture?  Where Adam introduced sin to the world, Jesus would offer the world forgiveness.  Where Adam’s sin would bring fear, worry, doubt, mistrust; Jesus’ sacrifice would bring grace, redemption, mercy, and love.  We could have done without Adam and his weakness, but we could not live without Jesus and His strength!  Jesus is the answer, the hero to our story!  Despite our sin, He loves us.  Despite our guilt, He forgives us.  Despite our faults, He cares… and He is always there!

Romans 5_18-19

Are you struggling with sin?  You are not alone, friend!!  Jesus is the answer!  All you have to do is call on Him!!  I am happy to pray with you and for you and help you in your journey!  Believe me… it is worth it!!
