Five Minute Friday: True

The idea is to write for five minutes flat.  No extreme editing; no worrying about perfect grammar, font, or punctuation. Unscripted. Unedited. Real.

Five Minute Friday

The true story of me begins with a very early wake up call and some much needed time with my Lord.

The true story continues downhill from there.  My tired gets tired-er.  my weary gets wearier as I deal with mounds of paperwork and special needs that I have no idea how to help.  I speak in loud voices to get attention of little minds and I try to entertain in ways that leave me exhausted.

The true story of me continues after I leave the school house, but it does not get more exciting.  After spending all day talking to 10 years olds, I referee my own 11 and 16 year old and try to grab the attention of a very busy husband.  And I feel like I am failing at all of it right now.  Because I am tired and weary.

But I will wake up tomorrow morning and I will spend my quiet time with God and I will thank Him that I have these many blessings and ask him to help me be a better steward over what He has entrusted to me.

My true story will never be played out on the big screen with Sandra Bullock playing my part… she wouldn’t be able to truly pull off the weary anyway.  No one would buy the ticket because they have their own versions of busy and tired at home.

My true story will slow down soon, I pray.  But for now, I am the best me I can be in the moment.  I am serving those that God has given me to serve… and I am asking that He hold me as I do so… because I am tired and weary.  true story.

  1. Oh friend… I am tired and weary too – true story… but your sweet honesty here – it has me mopping up some tears… God has never left me… He is still here. True story.

  2. I have only been working in the school system for a few years, but it seems as though September is was more weary of a month than October will be. Hold on for a few more days.

    • Agreed! It is always hard to get to know the new kids, get used to them being so young, and figure out what is “normal” with this new group. Sigh. It is already looking like a challenging year and a challenging group. I appreciate your prayers! Thanks for stopping by!

  3. I’ve been in that oh so tired and weary place…I’ve got one foot there right now. Trust God will be your comfort and your strength. I pray it for you even now. Renewal will come just in time. Be encouraged. 🙂
